Just a quick thank you to all marshals and feed station men and women who made a hard race a great day. Special thanks to all those at Newcastleton who laid on a super spread of tea, cakes sandwiches and soup. A great relief to all that made it that far.

Just registering to say a great big Thank You to all involved in the organisation and running of this event. All the marshalls were brilliant and you have no idea what a fillip it is when you are feeling low and someone smiles and says "well done". You guys got me to the finish. Feed station people were great too, particularly the ladies at Newcastleton. Well done to you all.

Totally agree with all the comments on this site. The food at Newcastleton was just what was needed and the humour and friendliness of the marshalls and all involved was second to none. Thanks for a fantastic day!

Is it benefitted or benefited? When adding -ing and -ed to verbs, we sometimes double the consonant beforehand. People are often confused with ‘benefitted/benefited’, ‘focussed/focused’ and ‘targetted/targeted’. This tip answers some of those queries. The official requirements are that we ‘double a single consonant letter at the end of any base where the preceding vowel is spelled with a single letter and stressed’. I wonder what Shona thinks? Thanks and praise indeed. Praise the Lord. Shocked

That would be a great shame macsdad - I thought that the generosity of Newcastleton folk meant that they 'volunteered' for many reasons - least of all for the freebies they might have got out of it. The thanks and praise from folk who benefitted was enough for some!
